ORION - orienteering manager

Orion is a modern mobile app designed specifically for orienteering organizers, coaches, and clubs. It enables the complete management, timing, and analysis of orienteering training sessions and smaller races—all simply and directly from your Android phone or tablet.

You no longer need to carry a laptop into the woods; all you need to organize a training session or a small race is your phone and, optionally, a Sportident readout unit!

Key features and functions:
Full Sportident support: Connect a readout station (Master unit) via USB OTG and download data from SI cards directly to your mobile device.

Manual timing option: No SI cards? No problem. Start competitors with a single tap and record their finish times just as easily.

Flexible starts: Supports both interval and mass starts. The app allows you to set scheduled start times and offers a clear visual countdown, as well as audio and vibration signals for the starter.

Background readout: The SI readout unit remains fully active even when the phone screen is locked. You can safely set the device aside to conserve battery during long events.

Instant results: The app automatically processes punches, verifies the correct control sequence, detects missing punches, and instantly calculates the time gap to the leader. You can easily change a competitor's status (DSQ, Non-competitive, DNF, DNS) or assign an unknown finish record (by matching it with SI card data or searching the competitor list). Detailed split times: A clear display of split times with real-time comparison against other runners in the same category.

Online results: Automatic synchronization of data and live results to the orionlive.eu website or direct integration with the oresults.eu platform (simply enter your API key).

Export and integration options: Result generation in PDF or CSV formats. Integration with the Czech ORIS information system (downloading race definitions and start lists, uploading results). Ability to easily import course definitions exported as TXT files from OCAD.
