This extension allowed me to switch from Chrome to Firefox since I've been using a Start.me page for a very long time and I needed the address bar to be empty when a new tab is opened. Custom New Tab Page does the job flawlessly. An iframe is no problem for me since all links are opened in new tabs. Or you can just middle click them, you know.
