User Reviews

CopyTables is widely praised for ease of use, reliability, and time savings, with rich export options (CSV/Excel) and configurable features that streamline copying data from online tables. Reviewers repeatedly call it intuitive and essential for daily work. However, recurring issues include intermittent greying of the context menu/selection and inconsistent copy behavior—sometimes nothing is copied or the entire table is pasted as plain text due to Firefox defaults. When it functions, it’s extremely helpful; when it doesn’t, it can be frustrating. Overall, very useful with some reliability caveats.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive for selecting tables and exporting data.
  • Saves time and is indispensable for handling online tables.
  • Rich export options and configurability, including CSV/Excel exports.
  • Reliable and smooth in daily use.
Cons
  • Context menu and table/column selection can be greyed out or unavailable, limiting usability.
  • Copying content is not always reliable and can copy nothing or the whole table as plain text due to Firefox behavior.

Select a table on a website. In the context-menu, everything is greyed out. Even when I manage (by accident) to get the context menu not greyed out, "copy" (no matter what) does not copy anything to the clipboard. Totally useless
