Copy as Hyperlink

DEPRECATED in favor of my Title-Link Copy extension.

Copy as Hyperlink lets you quickly copy any selected link, or—if you select non-link text—copy the current tab as a rich hyperlink followed by your selected text. If nothing is selected, it copies the tab’s title and URL as a rich text hyperlink. Perfect for pasting into emails, documents, or any app that supports rich text. Works seamlessly on both Firefox Desktop and Android.

Features

• Smart Copy Logic: Copy Selected Link: Instantly copy any link you select as a rich, clickable hyperlink. Copy Tab as Hyperlink: If nothing is selected, copy the current tab’s title and URL as a rich hyperlink. Copy Tab Hyperlink + Selected Text: If you select non-link text, copy the tab’s title and URL as a hyperlink, followed by your selected text.
• Rich Text & Plain Text: Pasted content appears as a hyperlink in rich text editors (like Gmail, Outlook, Google Docs), or just the URL in plain text editors.
• Multiple Activation Methods: Desktop: Use the context menu, toolbar button, or a customizable keyboard shortcut. Android: Access via the Firefox Extensions menu.
• Privacy-First: No data is ever collected or transmitted.

On Desktop

• Right-click and choose Copy as Hyperlink
• Click the extension icon in the toolbar
• Use the keyboard shortcut (<Ctrl>+<Alt>+<H>, or set your own)

• Open the Firefox Extensions menu
• Tap Copy as Hyperlink

Where does the extension work? On any page where you can select a link or text, or use the context menu.

What if my app doesn’t support rich text? The extension will paste the plain URL as a fallback.

How do I remove the extension? Click the Remove Extension button on the onboarding page, or go to Firefox Add-ons Manager (about:addons).
