Converse — Search for Claude

Claude's built-in search only matches conversation titles. Converse indexes every message so you can find anything — a piece of code, a specific answer, a draft you wrote three months ago. It searches your skills the same way, down to the contents of each skill file.

HOW IT WORKS Converse adds a search drawer to claude.ai. When you open it, it syncs your conversations in the background using your existing browser session. Everything is indexed locally in your browser — nothing ever leaves your device.

A Chats / Skills toggle below the search box switches what the drawer searches. Skills are fetched the first time you switch to Skills mode, then cached locally like conversations are.

FEATURES

• Full-text search — searches message bodies, not just titles
• Skills search — searches inside every file of a skill, not just its name and description
• Highlighted snippets — see exactly where the match is in context
• Sort by relevance, date modified, or date created
• Incremental sync — only fetches conversations and skills that have changed since last sync
• Click any result to jump straight to that conversation
• Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+F to open, Escape to close

PASTE TO FILE (optional, off by default) Pastes longer than a threshold you choose are uploaded as a .txt attachment instead of raw text, so Claude reads the file directly rather than re-processing a wall of pasted text. Enable it and set the threshold from the gear icon in the drawer footer. Press Ctrl+Shift+V to paste normally at any time.

PRIVACY No data collection. No external servers. No account required. All indexed data is stored in your browser's IndexedDB and can be cleared at any time from inside the extension. Skill archives are downloaded from claude.ai and unpacked entirely inside your browser.
