User Reviews

Users find Context Wiktionary useful and time-saving for quick word lookups. However, multiple reviews highlight issues with how the extension manages tabs: it opens searches in the same tab or to the left of the current tab, creating navigational inconvenience. Users suggest improvements like reusing a single Wiktionary tab or displaying results in a popup window to reduce tab clutter and enhance browsing experience.
Pros
  • The extension works well and performs its intended function effectively.
  • It saves time for users looking up words on Wiktionary.
  • The add-on is handy and easy to use.
  • Users appreciate the simplicity and usefulness of the extension.
Cons
  • The extension opens Wiktionary pages in the same tab, which can be inconvenient as it replaces the current page without an easy way to go back.
  • New tabs opened by the extension appear to the left of the current tab, which is counterintuitive compared to Firefox's default behavior of opening new tabs to the right.
  • There's no option to reuse an existing Wiktionary tab, leading to multiple tabs open for different searches.
  • Users would prefer the results to appear in a popup or bubble window rather than opening new tabs to reduce tab clutter and distraction.

It works, but not the best option for a search if you have many extensions in your context menu. Using the "Add custom search engine" extension makes searches faster for keyboard users to type something like "@wikt example" in the search bar.
