Command Center Firefox

Command Center

Spotlight-style command palette. Press Cmd+Shift+Space to fuzzy-search your open tabs and history; Cmd+Enter to Google-search or open a URL.

Features & Capabilities

Command Center is a fast, keyboard-driven launcher for Firefox.

Press Cmd+Shift+Space (Ctrl+Shift+Space on Windows/Linux) anywhere to open a centered, Spotlight/Alfred-style search box, then start typing:

• Fuzzy-search your open tabs first, then your browsing history. • Enter switches to the matching tab, or opens a history result in a new tab. • Cmd+Enter ignores the list and acts on what you typed — open it as a URL if it looks like one, otherwise run a Google search. • Cmd+Backspace (or the × button) closes the highlighted tab without leaving the palette. • Arrow keys (or Ctrl+N / Ctrl+P) to move, Esc to close.

Customisable: open the add-on's Settings to rebind the shortcut to any combo, remap the in-palette keys (open, Google/URL and close-tab), and set how many results are shown.

The overlay is style-isolated in a Shadow DOM and captures keystrokes so the underlying page's shortcuts don't interfere. Site icons are shown next to results. No accounts, no analytics.

Is Command Center Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Command Center requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Command Center is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
