Minimalist dumb phone launcher. Large tiles, simple home screen, less clutter.
Comfy is a minimalist launcher that replaces your Android home screen with large, clearly labelled tiles for the apps and people you choose.
A dumb phone home screen, with your other apps still one swipe away in the app drawer. No wall of forty icons.
A SIMPLER HOME SCREEN — AND IT STAYS THAT WAY
Most home screens grow until apps become hard to find. This launcher works the other way round: a few big tiles, each with an icon and a clear name. Everything else stays in the app drawer instead of crowding your home screen. Once your home screen is set up, Guardrails help keep it that way.
GUARDRAILS — KEEP THE PHONE THE WAY YOU SET IT
Lock Comfy's settings with a PIN. Freeze Home so tiles cannot be added, moved or removed. Turn on the connection watch and the launcher shows a notice when internet access is lost, airplane mode is on or the ringer is silent. Its action restores the ringer when Android allows it or opens the relevant system setting. Comfy also warns you if it is no longer your default home app. Useful on your phone or one you set up for family.
HOME
Swipe between three home screen pages. Mix app and contact tiles in any order. Tap an empty slot to add something; hold a tile to move, replace or remove it. The top shows the time and date, with local weather when location access is allowed.
ALL APPS
The launcher's app drawer lists apps available to open on the device. Sort A to Z, by most recently installed, or by use frequency when optional usage access is allowed. Choose a list or grid, three icon sizes, and an alphabet index for A-to-Z sorting.
GROUPS
Several apps under one name, opening on the home screen itself instead of in a separate window. Rename, add, remove, or ungroup.
SEARCH
One field for apps, contacts and recent searches at once. Voice search on supported devices, and you can carry the same search to the web.
CONTACTS ON HOME
The launcher puts people next to your apps. One tap opens the phone app with that person's number already entered, so you place the call yourself.
EASY TO READ
A dumb phone launcher should be readable first. Choose from two larger text sizes, eleven colour themes or the system theme. Options include warm paper, sage, true black, midnight and two high-contrast sets. Grid density fits more or fewer tiles on a page.
WEATHER
Feels-like temperature, the day's high and low, humidity and wind, an hourly view and a 5-day forecast, in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
NEWS
A short list of headlines selected for your region when available, refreshed through the day. It sits in its own tab, not on the home screen.
QUICK SETTINGS
Shortcuts open the relevant Android settings for Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth, sound, battery and Do Not Disturb.
EMERGENCY SHORTCUT
An optional button that opens the phone app with an emergency number already entered — you still confirm and place the call yourself. It stays off until you turn it on.
WHAT COMFY DOES NOT DO
No account and nothing to sign in to. The launcher does not change your search engine or browser, does not read notifications from other apps, and does not sell your personal data.
PERMISSIONS
Contacts: to show people on Home and dial their number. Selections stay on the device.
Location: for local weather only. No location history is kept.
Notifications: only for status messages from Comfy.
Usage access: optional, for recent and frequently used app sorting and suggestions. Usage statistics stay on the device.
Comfy is a launcher only — it does not replace your dialer, messages app or keyboard. Available in 30 languages.
Set Comfy as your home app, put the few things you actually use on the first page, and leave the rest in the drawer.
