Features & Capabilities

Yle Kids Areena is a child-friendly Chrome extension that lets kids easily and safely watch and listen to Yle's children's programs. The app divides content by age group and language, offering options like Pikku Kakkonen for toddlers, Galaxi for school-age children, and Swedish-language shows through BUU Club and Hajbo. New episodes and listening content such as fairy tales and melodies are added daily, making it perfect for entertainment and learning on road trips or at home.

The extension supports Finnish and Swedish, subtitles, and remembers where the viewing left off with automatic resume. It also supports Chromecast, allowing streaming to your TV. Designed for phones and tablets with Android 4.1+, Yle Kids Areena provides safe, engaging, and accessible children's programming, though some content is limited to Finland due to copyright. An excellent choice for families seeking quality kids content in Finnish and Swedish languages.

The content is superb, but the UX is mediocre. There is no way to mark series or episodes as favorites. The search doesn't really work on Android TV. It's hard to find anything from the long list of thumbnails.
