Overview

Features & Capabilities

Chinese Chess, also called Xiangqi, with a full-strength engine running on your phone.

The opponent is Pikafish, the NNUE engine that leads modern Xiangqi play. It ships inside the app and runs entirely on the device, so there is no account to create and nothing to wait for.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL
The interface is in Chinese throughout, as are the pieces, exactly as they are on a real Xiangqi board. If you can read the characters on the pieces you can reach every part of the app; there is no English interface.

WAYS TO PLAY
- Take red and move first against the engine
- Take black and answer its opening
- Two players sharing one phone
- Watch the engine play itself, at any level
- Endgame practice with eight classical mating patterns, among them the double cannon mate, the iron bolt, the mate behind the horse and the horse on the corner point

SIX LEVELS
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Professional, Master and Grandmaster. A level fixes how deep the engine may search, from three plies at Beginner to twenty at Master. Grandmaster lifts the limit and gives the engine ten seconds a move, which is past human strength.

WHILE YOU PLAY
- An evaluation bar above the board shows who stands better, read in pawns or in moves to mate
- Captured pieces sit beside each side's name card, with a running score
- The move list is written in traditional Chinese notation and can be exported as text
- Ask for a hint and the engine names the move it would choose
- Take a move back, replay the game a step at a time, or pick up the game you left unfinished
- Perpetual check and threefold repetition are judged the way a tournament judges them

THE BOARD
Board and pieces are drawn in code rather than scaled from a bitmap, so the lines stay sharp on any screen. The whole game sits on one portrait page with no menus to dig through.

YOUR RECORD
A rating ladder follows your results from game to game and awards a title as it climbs, from beginner up to master.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The app requests no permissions at all, not even network access. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Every game stays on your phone.
