Yek Salai - Meitei Clan

Yek Salai is a simple, respectful companion for exploring Meitei surnames, clans (yek), and traditional marriage compatibility. Built as a self‑funded community project, it focuses on clarity, accuracy, and a friendly experience. Use it to look up surnames, understand clan links, check compatibility with real explanations, and learn more about the customs that keep families and communities connected.

What you can do:

Check marriage compatibility the clear way. Results show Allowed, Not Allowed, or Allowed Under Conditions when there are mixed outcomes. You also see why—rules and short explanations are presented in plain language.
Handle surnames with more than one clan. When a surname may belong to 2 or more yek, choose multiple options with checkboxes and see every valid combination tested.

Read detailed combination analysis. The app lists accepted and rejected pairs side by side, with concise reasons, so families can discuss with confidence.

Browse all surnames A–Z in the Find Clan section. Switch to Clan view any time if you prefer grouped lists. Search is fast and forgiving.
Review recent checks. Your last results are saved locally with clear names and status icons, so you can revisit and compare without repeating the whole process.

Learn with FAQ and a small quiz. Short answers and helpful examples make cultural knowledge easy to absorb and share.

Suggest corrections. Culture is living—use the Corrections section to propose updates and help the data stay accurate for everyone.

Thoughtful design:

Clean, native UI that feels calm and trustworthy.
Clear color language: green for fully allowed, yellow for conditional, red for prohibited.
Clan info that reflects your selections, especially when multiple yek are involved.

Gentle monetization: banners say “Support Yek Salai – this is self‑funded,” placed at natural breaks. Interstitial prompts are occasional and skippable.

Why it matters:
Meitei surnames and clans are more than labels—they are history, kinship, and responsibility.
