What is Pradhan Mandhiri Awas Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U), a major mission implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). The government of India launched this mission on 25 June 2015. This mission addresses the shortage of urban housing in EWS / LIG and ensures a permanent home for all eligible urban families, including slum dwellers in the MIG categories by 2022, when the country completes 75 years of independence.
