PrairiePay: Alberta Take-Home Android

PrairiePay: Alberta Take-Home

Alberta take-home pay, then compared to ON, BC and QC. See what you keep in AB.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

PrairiePay turns any Alberta salary into the real number that lands in your bank account, then shows the Alberta advantage: the same salary compared side by side across four provinces, so you can see how much more of your pay you keep by living in Alberta.

ALBERTA TAKE-HOME
Type a gross figure as annual, monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, or an hourly wage with hours per week, and your net pay updates instantly. A hero card shows your take-home, the per-period amount, and a bar splitting what you keep from what goes to deductions. The breakdown lists federal income tax, Alberta income tax, CPP, CPP2, and Employment Insurance, with your effective rate. Add an optional RRSP contribution, then save a result to history or share it.

THE ALBERTA ADVANTAGE
Open the comparison screen, enter one salary, and PrairiePay computes annual take-home in Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, and Quebec at the same time. The headline shows the dollar advantage of Alberta over the province that keeps the least, and what that is per month. A bar for every province sits against an Alberta reference line, and a row for each province lists its net pay, monthly take-home, effective rate, and the gap versus Alberta. Each province uses its own real rules, including the Ontario surtax and Health Premium, the BC tax reduction, and Quebec QPP, QPIP, and the federal Quebec abatement.

NO PST, ON A SPENDING BASKET
Turn on the sales-tax view and enter a monthly spend to see the yearly sales tax in each province, since Alberta is the only one with no provincial sales tax. PrairiePay compares Alberta at 5 percent against BC at 12, Ontario at 13, and Quebec at 14.975, and shows the extra you would pay each year outside Alberta. Share a clean province-by-province breakdown.

All figures use 2026 federal and provincial parameters. PrairiePay works fully offline with no account, no sign-up, and no cloud. No subscription, no ads, no tracking. Pay once and keep it. The interface is fully bilingual in English and French with light and dark themes.

PrairiePay is an estimate for a single employed resident with employment income; it is not tax advice and does not replace your official pay stub.
