CutList: Lumber Optimizer

CutList packs your list of needed cuts onto the minimum number of stock boards using first-fit-decreasing bin packing, accounting for the blade kerf (default 0.125 in, adjustable). The result shows how many boards you need, the total waste, and for each board exactly which cuts go on it and how much offcut is left.

Enter each cut as a length, a quantity, and an optional label. Pick the stock length you buy at the lumber yard (8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 ft) and CutList lays out the cut plan board by board.
