Solarium Android

Solarium

EPUB reader with Calibre & OPDS sync. Beautiful on any Android tablet.

Features & Capabilities

Solarium is a calm, purpose-built EPUB reader for Android tablets.

Point it at your Calibre Content Server, Komga, Kavita, or any OPDS
catalog, and those books appear alongside the ones already on your
tablet. One library, one shelf.

---

YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR WAY

Your library has depth. Browse by what you're reading, what you've
finished, by author, by series. Sort by title, by author, by when
you added it, or by publication date. Long-press any book to pull
up full metadata — description, tags, publication details, your
reading history, the table of contents.

The library remembers what you're currently reading. A dock at the bottom
of the screen keeps your in-progress books one tap away. Swipe to
mark finished. Swipe to mark unread.

---

READING DONE RIGHT

Solarium ships with Literata, a typeface designed specifically for
long-form reading on screens. OpenDyslexic is included for readers
who need it. Set your size, margins, and line height once —
Solarium remembers them.

The reader has its own light/dark/system setting, independent of
the app theme. Because sometimes you want a dark app and a white
page, or the reverse.

Tap either edge to turn a page. Tap the center to show controls.
Long-press any text to highlight or share a passage. If your
device has a stylus, you can sketch directly on the page.

---

OPDS & CALIBRE INTEGRATION

Solarium supports OPDS 1.x and OPDS 2.0. Auto-detects Calibre
Content Server, Calibre-Web, Komga, Kavita, Amusewiki, and
Project Gutenberg.

Browse your server's full catalog hierarchically — by genre,
author, series, or whatever your server organizes by. Search.
Paginate. Tap a book to see its metadata and download it.

Books you've already imported are recognized automatically — no
duplicates, just a quiet cloud icon indicating the connection.
Multi-library Calibre setups are handled: Solarium detects
multiple libraries and lets you choose which to connect.

---

WHEN YOU FINISH A BOOK

When you reach the last page, Solarium marks the book finished,
notes how long it took, and suggests what to read next — the
next book in the series, or more by the same author.

---

DESIGNED FOR THE DAYLIGHT DC1

The Daylight DC1 has a LivePaper display — no backlight during
the day, 60fps, readable in direct sunlight. Solarium is
designed for it: greyscale-first, every element legible on a
monochrome display. Color is used only where it carries meaning.

It works beautifully on any Android tablet.

---

NO BLOAT. NO TRACKING.

No reading streaks. No AI summaries. No social features. No
ads. No analytics. No data collected. Your books, your progress,
your highlights — all on your device.

Solarium ships with three books to get you started: Walden by
Thoreau, Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, and Leaves of Grass
by Whitman. Everything else is yours to bring.
