WithPet requests only one permission from Health Connect: Read Steps.

- What is it used for?

It is used solely to read your step count and calculate virtual rewards within the app (treats, experience points, and challenge progress). As your step count accumulates, your pet grows, daily/weekly missions progress, and Walk Consecutive Bonuses are earned.

- Why is Health Connect needed?

We use Health Connect as a standard data source to ensure users can raise their pets using a single, consistent step count data, regardless of which health app they use (Samsung Health, Google Fit, smartwatch, etc.). This allows users to continue using their usual health app while receiving WithPet rewards seamlessly.

- Benefits for Users

Without manual input, your daily step count, which is already being measured, is automatically converted into pet growth and rewards, helping you form a consistent walking habit.

- Data Processing Method

Step count data is processed only within the user's device and is not transmitted to an external server once the reward calculation is complete. It is not shared with third parties or used for advertising purposes.

- Revocation of Permissions

You can revoke permissions at any time through the Health Connect app or system settings. If you do not have permission, only the step-based reward feature will be disabled, while other features such as pet customization and social functions will remain available.
