Winter Fishing Story

Winter Fishing Story is a match three game where nothing falls and nothing slides. The camp is a seven by seven field of drilled holes with a few ridges of broken ice that can never be used. You always hold one fish, with the next two shown beside it, and your only move is to choose which open hole it goes into. Line up three or more of the same fish in a row or a column and they are landed, leaving the holes open again.

Because you place instead of swap, the board is exactly what you have made of it. Every fish set down in a hurry is a hole you cannot use later, and the ridges of ice cut the field into pockets that fill up faster than the open middle. Good play means keeping two or three colours in play near each other and never wasting the far corners.

Each chapter tells a small piece of a day on the ice and sets a target of fish to land inside a fixed number of drops. Twelve chapters run from the first morning through a snow squall and a long walk home. Drops left over at the end are turned into bonus points, so finishing early is always better than finishing barely.

The swap is the only help. It trades the fish in your hand with the next one in the queue, three times per chapter, which is often enough to rescue a line that needed one more of the right kind. Finishing a chapter without touching it earns a keepsake of its own.

If the camp ever fills so that no hole is left, the chapter ends where it stands. Eight keepsakes track the milestones from a first finished morning to six hundred fish landed, and the camp board ranks your best chapter against the other fishermen.

Winter Fishing Story is played in portrait and works fully offline. There is no account, no advertising, nothing to buy and no timer. Chapters, scores and keepsakes stay on your device, and one clear data button in the settings screen removes them all.
