VegaStars scores a cleared grid out of four parts, and one of them dwarfs the rest.

The grid itself is worth ten points a cell: two hundred and fifty on a five by five, three hundred on a five by six. Seconds left on the clock are three each. The level number adds fifteen. And every move you did not spend is worth twenty-five, which on a nineteen-move budget is more than everything else put together.

So the game is not asking you to finish, it is asking you to finish cheaply. Solving level eight in ten moves out of eighteen beats solving it in seventeen by a hundred and seventy-five points before the clock is even counted, and the clock is generous at seventy-five to a hundred and twenty-nine seconds precisely so that you can count before you tap.

The rules are short. Arrows roll a whole line one cell, wrapping round the edge. A row is done when its tiles are all of one kind. Columns from level one, rows from level four.
