Synced Scratchpad

Keep one or more scratchpads in sync across all your devices without signing up for anything new. Synced Scratchpad stores your text in a private GitHub Gist that you create and own. The app reads and writes it directly via the GitHub API. There is no middleman, no subscription, and no data collected by us.

HOW IT WORKS
- Open the app and your scratchpad loads instantly from a local cache, then refreshes from GitHub.
- Type or paste anything and it saves automatically after a short pause.
- Open the app on another device and it fetches the same Gist with the latest content.

MULTIPLE SCRATCHPADS
Name and maintain separate scratchpads for personal use, work, or a shared team and switch between them with a single tap. Each scratchpad is backed by its own Gist. You can reuse the same Personal Access Token for all of them.

SETUP takes about 5 minutes
1. Create a secret Gist at gist.github.com — filename must be scratchpad.txt
2. Generate a GitHub Personal Access Token with the gist scope only
3. Open the app, give the scratchpad a name, enter your token and Gist ID, and tap Connect
4. Repeat on each device using the same token and Gist ID

PRIVACY
Your text lives in your GitHub Gist, under your account. Your token is stored only on your device using Android's secure credential storage — it is never sent to us or any third party. COMPANION BROWSER EXTENSION
A matching Chrome extension is available in the Chrome Web Store, using the same Gist as the Android app. Set up the extension with the same Gist ID and token and your scratchpad stays in sync between your phone and your browser.
