The Virtual Linguistic Landscape (VLL) application, BASUARA, is the product of a research project entitled "Mobile Application-Based Virtual Linguistic Landscape (VLL) Prototype: West Sumatra Tourism Promotion Strategy Based on City Image and Cultural Heritage," funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture's Research and Technology Development Agency (DPPM), under Research Grant Agreement Number: 088/C3/DT.05.00/PL.2025, dated May 28, 2025.

This application aims to showcase the Virtual Linguistic Landscape (VLL) in West Sumatra, one of Indonesia's most popular provinces, known for its rich natural and Minangkabau culture. Through the development of a mobile application, the VLL application is expected to support the promotion of sustainable tourism and cultural preservation.

By highlighting the natural charm and cultural identity through the use of three languages ​​(Trigatra Bangun Bahasa): Indonesian, Minangkabau, and English, this application focuses on exploring how digital public spaces can strengthen the region's image and cultural heritage in promoting West Sumatra tourism, both locally, nationally, and globally.
