VitalFi

VitalFi is experimental research software.

It analyzes Wi-Fi signal variations (RSSI) from a local router to estimate potential patterns related to breathing or activity, and displays a hypothetical heading on a 2D/3D radar. It works 100% offline: it does not require internet or mobile data.

IMPORTANT
• This is a scientific proof of concept, not certified search and rescue equipment.

• It does not replace geophones, rescue dogs, thermal cameras, or official protocols.

• Distance and depth are heuristic estimates. Always verify the site.

• Location permission is required by Android to read Wi-Fi scans; VitalFi does not send GPS data over the internet.

Requirements
• Android 8.0 or higher
• 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router near the test area (no internet access)
• Smartphone compass
