Tap to Pay Ready

Tap to Pay Ready is a Visa-developed companion app that enables contactless card and mobile wallet payments on compatible Android devices. It is not a standalone point-of-sale app — download and use only when prompted by your existing POS app. Once installed, it opens automatically to accept contactless payments during checkout, then closes until the next transaction.

For eligible merchants, Tap to Pay Ready lets you accept any card brand supported by your POS app, offer secure touch-free payments without additional hardware, and rely on PCI-certified protections. Requirements include a compatible Android device, a stable internet connection, and following instructions from your payment acceptance app. Keep auto-updates enabled and instruct customers to tap the contactless indicator or hold their mobile wallet/smartwatch to the back of your device for successful transactions.
