User Reviews

Users praise Vived for its clean, responsive UI and variety of tech content that helps them stay updated. The app is appreciated for its ad-free experience and effective content filtering. However, several users experience login issues, especially with Google and GitHub accounts, and the app handles network interruptions poorly, often resetting to the login screen. Missing features include in-app article viewing, title search, compact view options, and widgets. Additionally, some users note the app needs more frequent updates and greater content variation to enhance user satisfaction.
Pros
  • Well-designed and responsive user interface, comfortable for reading.
  • Offers a wide variety of relevant and interesting tech and IT-related content.
  • No ads, providing an uninterrupted user experience.
  • Useful filtering options that deliver customized, interesting articles daily.
  • App is appreciated as a good alternative for staying up-to-date with technology news and IT topics.
Cons
  • App struggles with network instability, showing error pages or resetting content during connection hiccups.
  • Login and onboarding processes have issues, including failure to log in with Google/GitHub and repeated onboarding screens.
  • Lack of functionality such as in-app article opening (uses external web views) and absence of a compact or widget view for quick access.
  • No search capability for article titles, only tag-based navigation.
  • Content frequency and variation could be improved, and app updates have been sparse since March 2023.

I made an account on the web app version but the android app doesn't log in or sign up an account either with email or through google account. I can guess it's because I removed lots of google background components in a debloat process of my phone, maybe the app has some dependencies on whatvI removed so now it can't interact with its API. Can developers provide the background dependencies of the app please?

I like the content the app provides and its presentation, but the app feels very clunky/unstable, especially with how it reacts to any hiccups in my internet connection...after loading all/most the content suddenly it might kick me out to the onboarding page/login screen or disappear all the loaded content to show a simple "no connection" page. Video/social apps handle network issues better than this text-based app. Seems useless if you don't have an excellent connection.
