Wardrobe – Virtual Closet

What should I wear today? Most of us own far more clothes than we wear. Not because we dislike the rest, but because we forget it exists. Wardrobe is a virtual closet: it puts your whole digital wardrobe on one screen and builds the day's outfits out of the clothes you already own.

HOW IT WORKS

Photograph a garment, or pick a photo you already have. The background is removed automatically, so your wardrobe looks like a catalogue rather than a camera roll. Add a category, and you are done — everything else is optional.

Once a few garments are in, the Outfits tab proposes complete outfits: a top, a bottom or a dress, shoes, and outerwear when the weather calls for it. Proposals are scored on colour harmony, on how well the formality of each piece matches the rest, and on whether the garments suit the current season.

WHAT YOU GET

• An unlimited wardrobe. No cap on how many garments you can add.
• Filters by category, season, colour and availability, combined however you like.
• Outfit suggestions that stay the same through the day, so you can come back to one you liked, and a Regenerate button when you want different ideas.
• Favourites, to keep the combinations that worked.
• A laundry state. A garment in the wash is still in your wardrobe, but it will not be suggested until it comes back — which is the part most wardrobe apps leave out.
• Temperature-aware outfits. Outerwear is required below your cold threshold and left out above your warm one, and both thresholds are yours to set, because the same 14 degrees calls for a jacket for some people and short sleeves for others.
• A record of what you wore and when, shown on a calendar, so suggestions keep varying instead of repeating.
• Usage statistics: what you never wear, what you wear most, what you have not worn for longest, and how much of your wardrobe you actually used this month.
• Backup and restore in a single file, so changing phone does not mean starting over.
• Italian and English, light and dark theme.

PRIVACY

Wardrobe has no account and no server. Your photos, garments and history stay on your phone and are never uploaded anywhere. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no trackers.

Background removal runs on the device: your images are not sent away to be processed.

The only data that ever leaves your phone is an approximate location, and only if you choose to use the weather feature. It is truncated to about a kilometre before it is sent, it goes only to the weather service, and it is never stored. Decline the permission and you can simply type the temperature yourself.

Photos are re-encoded when saved, which strips their metadata — including the GPS coordinates a phone camera writes into every picture.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Automatic background removal uses a component provided by Google Play services. On the first garment it may take a few seconds while that component is fetched, and on a device without Google Play services the original photo is kept instead. The app works either way.
• The weather feature needs a network connection and approximate location permission. Both are optional.
• There is no sync between devices. Use the backup file to move your wardrobe.
