HOW IT WORKS
Point your camera at any ingredient list, tap Analyze Ingredients, and UPF Scanner will:
• Score the product from 0–100 (0 = completely natural, 100 = maximally ultra-processed)
• Assign a NOVA Group classification (1 through 4) used by nutrition researchers worldwide
• Highlight the specific ingredients driving the score, color-coded by severity
• Explain in plain language why the product received its rating

WHAT WE LOOK FOR
UPF Scanner is trained to identify the hallmarks of ultra-processed foods, including: high-fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin, modified starches, artificial flavorings, colorings, preservatives, emulsifiers, stabilizers, and other additives not typically found in home cooking.
