Tabs Pro: Tuner & Chords

Play a song near your phone and Tabs Pro builds the guitar chord sheet and tablature: an editable starting point for you to check and polish. The analysis happens entirely on your device: none of your audio is sent anywhere. And the chromatic tuner you use before playing is included — with no ads along the way.

REAL-TIME CHROMATIC TUNER
Play a string and see the note, the octave, the frequency in Hz and how far above or below pitch it is, measured in cents. The needle covers -50 to +50 cents and changes color when the string enters the in-tune zone. The reading is stabilized so it doesn't jump between notes on every harmonic.

CHORDS FROM AUDIO
Record through the microphone or pick an audio file stored on your device — MP3, M4A and WAV in 16-bit PCM. Songs from streaming services are protected and cannot be opened by any app. The app identifies the notes, recognizes the chords and lays out the six-line tablature with the chords written above.

FINGERPICKING OR STRUMMING
The app picks the format on its own: when the part sounds fingerpicked, the transcription comes out note by note, with string and fret assigned; when it sounds strummed, it comes out as chords. Notes outside the guitar's range are discarded.

HEAR THE RESULT
The chord sheet is played back with guitar sound synthesized inside the app, and you set the playback speed between 40 and 200 BPM — from study pace to play-along tempo. Tap tempo sets that speed by tapping to the beat, instead of dragging a slider by eye.

FIX ANYTHING YOU WANT
Tap any chord to change the root, switch between major, minor, sevenths (7, m7, maj7), suspended and diminished, or remove it. Save to the on-device library and come back anytime.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS ON YOUR PHONE
Your audio is never sent to any server. There is no account to create, no ads, no data collection, and the app works without internet — you can put the phone in airplane mode and use everything. The app asks for a single permission: the microphone.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS VERSION
Tabs Pro gives you the song's direction: the generated chord sheet is a starting point for you to check and polish, not a finished transcription. The app recognizes major, minor, seventh (7, m7, maj7), suspended and diminished chords, plus slash chords like C/G. It works best with live guitar and minimal background noise, and the analysis covers the first three minutes of audio. Fix any chord by tapping it — editing is one touch away.
