Alternative IME

I'm really not into writing reviews, but gee. Call it the “instead“ keyboard. So many things you wish it would do instead. I don't ask much from a keyboard. This one, unfortunately, doesn't meet that very low standard. I spent most of my time compensating for its basic deficiencies. You get better functionality from one of those lower priced (free) keyboard apps. Seriously. I wanted a FITALY keyboard. I got that. That's about all I can say for the positives. What's wrong? Lots. The shift key needs to unshift automatically, not shift into caps lock and stay there until tapped again. Even better, allow an upward gesture (a key flick) to make a letter capital. Most capitlizaton is just one letter at the start of a word or sentence. When text is selected, pressing the delete/backspace key should delete it, instead of doing nothing. I worked around it by typing a random character to replace the text then deleting that character instead. Actually I just kept pressing delete a couple hundred times because I'd forget and didn't really feel like selecting the text again just to delete it. Or to not delete it again. The DONE key needs to also act as the GO or RETURN key, so when I type a URL or search request, it actually performs the function. I have a URL typed into my browser right now with no way to make it go there, short of choosing a different keyboard. (I'll do that in a minute.) The RETURN key hidden in the 123 keyboard does the same thing, or rather “doesn't“ do the same thing. Is it too much to ask for spell correction? I can get that for free. Accuracy? I'm tired of space bar being interpeted as letter “u“. Easier punctuation? I know, but some people still like to use it. Letter swipe technology? Or do I have to pay LESS to get that kind of stuff? I think I'll go back to using my old keyboard app instead. As bad as it was, this review would have taken me about half as long to write.

You need to implement a dictionary feature for it to be really useful.
