TripLynk is designed to make school trips easier and safer -- a single platform for teachers, parents, students, and school administrators to communicate about the trip, manage the paperwork, answer questions, engage with trip-related activities, monitor students during the trip and enhance their safety, all while maintaining the privacy of participants’ personal information.
App Features:
The app allows for 3 types of users: Teacher, Parent and Student; and 3 types of roles: Trip Leader (only available to Teachers), Chaperones (available to both Teachers and Parents), and Student Participants. The app functionality varies which each user and role type. Some functionality (e.g. check location) is only available once trip is live.
A Trip Leader has the ability to initiate a new trip, set details about the trip (such as participants, destinations, payments etc.), and manage all aspects of the trip (such as setting reminders, uploading activities, communicating with parents etc.)
A Chaperone can participate in a trip if invited by a Trip Leader, and will be assigned students to manage on the trip. This includes the ability to send reminders, set up meeting points, communicate with parents etc.
A Parent has the ability to approve the child’s participation on the trip, view trip details, communicate with the trip chaperones, and monitor the child’s progress.
A Student Participant has the ability to explore the trip details, interact with their chaperones, and participate in trip-related activities through the app.
Teacher:
Create trip: set trip title, select sections, set destinations, add participants, specify payments, send invites; (‘X’ indicates sections that need to be filled before invite can be sent)
Current trips: upcoming trips^, live trip; delete upcoming trip (swipe right), edit trip name/date after invites sent (swipe left)
Past trips: trips that have ended
Trip home: trip summary, start trip, end trip* , icon shortcuts
Student info: check location*, medical information, emergency contacts
Organize: add and view reminders, rally points, itinerary; see key contacts
Activities: add and view reading materials, quizzes
Memories: upload pictures
Communicate: chat with participants, check locations*
Payments: set payment schedule, track payments
Roll call: conduct roll call*
Notifications: see alerts received
Parent:
Current trips: child’s upcoming trips^ and live trips for which invite has been received; delete upcoming trip (swipe right)
Past trips: trips that have ended
Accept invite: accept forms & waivers and payments, see destinations and trip summary
Trip home: view trip summary, icon shortcuts
Trip forms: view trip forms
Payments: view payments
Explore: view destinations and itinerary
Reminders: view and accept received reminders
Activities: view reading materials, quizzes
Memories: view pictures
