BorrowBook Local is a private, offline-first lending journal for the things you share with other people. Keep a catalog of tools, books, games, chargers, money, sports gear, keys, technology, and other items, then record what left your hands and who has it.

See active loans at a glance, including outstanding quantities, due-soon items, and overdue returns. Quantity-aware lending prevents you from recording more units than you currently have available. For sets and multi-item loans, record partial returns one event at a time so every handoff remains auditable.

Each loan keeps a historical snapshot of the item name and category, so editing your catalog later does not rewrite the past. Completed and canceled loans remain in History. Borrower labels are typed directly in the app, so contacts permission is never required.

Optional local notifications can remind you one day before an expected return date and again if a loan becomes overdue. Photos are selected with the Android system picker, and missing or revoked photo access is handled gracefully.

Your core data is stored locally with no account, cloud backend, analytics, ads, subscription, or internet requirement. Export a human-readable JSON backup through the Android system file picker and import it later without silently overwriting conflicting local records. Choose System, Light, or Dark appearance from Settings.
