FenceCalc: Fence & Post Tools

FenceCalc turns your fence layout into a shopping list for builders, contractors and DIYers. Enter each run of fence, pick panels or pickets, and see how many posts, rails, boards and bags of concrete to buy.

• Multi-run layouts: up to 20 straight runs, open or closed loop, with a gate count for each run
• Posts sorted by type: end, corner, line and gate posts (two per gate)
• Panel or picket style: enter picket width and gap to count pickets, rails and nails
• Post concrete: hole size, depth, volume and bag count from a rule of thumb you can adjust
• Cost estimate: add your own prices for posts, panels, pickets, rails, gates, concrete and nails
• Feet and inches or meters and millimeters, with automatic conversion
• Quick fill for actual 1×4, 1×6, 1×8, 4×4 and 6×6 lumber sizes
• Share the estimate as a plain-text shopping list
• Save up to 20 named projects with notes, then reopen and update them anytime
• Clear messages for any missing or invalid measurement

Concrete amounts use a common rule of thumb (hole about three times the post width, depth about one third of the post length plus 6 in). Frost depth, soil and local rules may call for more.
