User Reviews

Players praise Guncho for its innovative hex-based, turn-based/shooter hybrid and its accessible yet deep gameplay, plus addictive puzzles and rewarding upgrades. However, many reviews flag a very challenging difficulty with RNG frustration, and a perceived lack of content (few bosses/modifiers) that can make progression feel short. A few also note onboarding can be unclear. Overall, Guncho stands out for its unique mechanics and engagement, but may best suit players who enjoy tough strategy puzzles and don’t mind a shorter content loop.
Pros
  • Innovative blend of hex-based turn-based strategy with shooter mechanics, offering a chess-like yet action-packed feel.
  • Easy to learn but with deep strategic depth, making it approachable for newcomers and challenging for veterans.
  • Fun, addictive puzzle/strategy gameplay with satisfying gun battles and upgrade options.
  • Short, mobile-friendly runs with replayability and the ability to save progress.
Cons
  • Very hard and punishing difficulty, with RNG that can ruin turns and frustrate players.
  • Limited content and variety (only a single boss and few modifiers); after beating it, there isn't much left to explore.
  • Some players feel onboarding isn’t clear and the game doesn’t explain everything well.

really love this game and would really love to play more like it...problem is that other modes are locked behind a set number of moves unless you buy the full game. Would be nice if there was an endless survival mode though

Love Guncho! Also a huge fan of Card Thief. Found a progression bug: I used an oil puddle to slide onto a spawn tile, blocking the enemy. I stayed there and manipulated line-of-sight (by removing bullets) to clear all other enemies. When I finally stepped off, the last enemy spawned and I killed it. However, the game then got stuck and wouldn't transition to the next level.
