Features & Capabilities

The TIME Criteria mobile application was developed to facilitate the clinical use of the Turkish Inappropriate Drug Use Criteria (TIME Criteria) in the Elderly. It is intended for use only by healthcare professionals.

The TIME Criteria, developed under the leadership of the Academic Geriatrics Society's Rational Drug Use Working Group, is a guideline specific to our country and easily applicable in clinical practice to prevent inappropriate drug use.

It is currently the most up-to-date guide in the literature.

It was developed with the broad participation of faculty members who are experts in their fields and experienced in the clinical practice of elderly patients in our country. The study group consisted of 17 geriatricians, 4 psychiatrists, 3 specialists each in neurology, cardiology, gastroenterology, general occupational diseases, and pharmacology; 2 specialists each in endocrinology, nephrology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and urology; and 1 specialist in chest diseases, infectious diseases, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and clinical pharmacology.

The criteria included criteria for the cardiovascular system, central nervous system, gastrointestinal system, respiratory system, musculoskeletal system, urogenital system, endocrine system, analgesic drugs, antiplatelet/anticoagulant drugs, supplements, and antibiotics. It consists of two main subsections: 1) TIME-to-STOP Criteria: Criteria for drugs that are generally or sometimes inappropriate for use in oily waters, but are frequently misused in clinical practice; 2) TIME-to-START Criteria: Criteria for drugs that are generally or sometimes particularly beneficial for use in oily waters, but are not frequently used in clinical practice.

It consists of 153 criteria in total, 112 of which are TIME-to-STOP and 41 of which are TIME-to-START.
