PastQuest: French Past Tenses

Build a clearer understanding of French past tenses, one decision at a time. PastQuest guides you through 18 focused units covering passé composé, imparfait and plus-que-parfait.

LEARN STEP BY STEP
Practise auxiliaries, past participles, agreement, irregular verbs and tense choice. Move from verb forms to the order of past events, with explanations and examples close at hand.

PRACTISE IN CONTEXT
Work with French sentences and everyday situations. Learn to distinguish a completed event from background, a habit or an event that happened earlier. Answer conjugation and tense-choice questions, then see corrections and explanations.

MAKE REVIEW A HABIT
Choose a short practice session or revisit material through spaced review. Return to unfinished exercises and focus on grammar points that need more attention.

TURN PROGRESS INTO A PLAN
See completed units, practice accuracy and recent activity. Use your progress to choose the next step. The grammar library keeps all 18 topics available whenever you need a reminder.

TRY TARGETED COACHING
Start with a free 12-question diagnostic and three trial coaching sessions. Coaching combines targeted practice, checks in different situations and a next-day check. An optional one-time coaching pack lets you continue where available; there is no subscription or automatic renewal. Core lessons remain free.

LEARN AT YOUR OWN PACE
No account or advertising. Lessons, practice and learning records work locally on your device. Purchases and restoration require a connection to Google Play. Choose your preferred interface language while French remains the language you are learning.

If you choose to send feedback, your message and any attachments are sent to support. Learning progress and exercise answers stay on your device.

Whether you are meeting passé composé for the first time or untangling the difference between j’ai vu and je voyais, PastQuest gives you a focused place to practise French past-tense decisions.
