InFlagranti Background Record

FREE, private local-only background video recorder app with built-in robustness.

No ads. No subscriptions. No accounts. No cloud. Your footage never leaves your phone.

Turn an old Android phone into a rock-solid surveillance camera. Mount it, plug it in, tap Start - or set a nightly schedule and walk away. InFlagranti keeps recording for hours with the screen off, and if anything stalls it heals itself and picks up where it left off.

WHY INFLAGRANTI

• Completely free — forever
• No ads, no in-app purchases, no paywalls
• No account, no sign-up, no email required
• 100% local — video stays on your device (or microSD)
• No remote viewing, no servers, no telemetry of your recordings
• Built for long unattended sessions, not five-minute clips

BUILT TO KEEP RECORDING

• Continuous overnight capture into tidy MP4 segments
• Foreground camera service — keeps going with the screen off
• Multi-layer self-healing watchdog: detects stalls, recovers from errors, survives process kills, and can resume after reboot
• Nightly auto start/stop schedule with resume-on-boot
• Low-storage guard that stops cleanly and alerts you — never silently deletes your footage
• Live aiming preview while the app is open; preview drops automatically when unattended so overnight runs stay cool and reliable

FULL CONTROL, ZERO BLOAT

• Camera / lens selection
• Resolution, frame rate, codec (H.264 / H.265), and video bitrate
• Optional audio with its own bitrate
• Segment length you choose
• Internal storage or microSD
• Live estimate of GB/hour and how many hours fit in free space

YOUR RECORDINGS, YOUR WAY

• In-app Recordings browser with thumbnails, duration, size, and resolution
• Play, share, delete, or save clips to Gallery
• Optional auto-copy finished clips to Gallery after a run (off by default for long nights)

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

InFlagranti does not upload your video. It does not require an account. It does not show ads. It does not sell subscriptions. Recordings live in app-specific storage on the device you chose — private by default, yours alone.

GET THE MOST OUT OF OVERNIGHT RUNS

• Keep the phone plugged in
• Prefer 1080p / 24 fps / H.265 for cool, efficient nights
• Complete Setup & permissions once (battery unrestricted, exact alarms, etc.) so the watchdog can do its job
• Mount the phone horizontally — recording is landscape 16:9; what you see in the preview is what gets saved

LEGAL NOTE

Only record where you have the right to do so. Audio recording may be restricted in your region. You are responsible for complying with local laws.

InFlagranti — free, private, local, and extremely robust. Overnight recording without the cloud tax.
