SendMe is a personal safety tool. It is not a location tracking app. Our commitment to your privacy is absolute. Here’s what this means:
No Continuous Monitoring: The app does not run in the background to record your movements or create a history of your journeys.
On-Demand Location Sharing: Your location is only accessed and shared at the exact moment you choose to send it, or when a pre-authorized "Buddy" makes a specific, one-time request.
You Are Always in Control: You have full control over who is authorized for Buddy Mode and can revoke their access at any time.
Core Safety Features:
One-Tap Emergency SOS (via SMS): Your prominent red "Text for Help" button is your lifeline. In a crisis, a single tap instantly sends an "EMERGENCY" message with your precise location. This feature is the app's core function and requires SMS permission to operate instantly when every second counts.
Buddy Mode (Authorized Remote Requests): As an additional safety layer, this feature allows you to grant trusted individuals the ability to request your location. If they are worried and cannot reach you, their request triggers an automatic, one-time SMS reply from your phone with your current location. This uses the same SMS permission granted for the SOS button.
Your Privacy, Control, and Permissions
Essential SMS Permission for Core Safety: To enable the one-tap instant SOS and the automatic Buddy Mode replies, SendMe requires the SEND_SMS permission. This permission is requested when you first use the SOS button and is exclusively used for these two core safety functions. The app cannot and will not read your messages or use this permission for any other purpose.
