Glossy is an app designed to help users create personalized glossaries for vocabulary building. Users can either enter or upload a text into the main window, and the app will automatically break it down into individual words, organizing them by frequency. Words can be tapped to highlight them within the text for context, or long-pressed to edit their details. To save a word to the glossary, a right swipe is used, while a left swipe removes it from future views, though it can be restored later if necessary.

The app also allows users to upload new texts by clicking the "Clear" icon, which refreshes the screen. The "Freeze" icon enables saving the current text even after reloading the app, and it can be unfrozen whenever needed by clicking the same icon.

In the "Glossary" screen, words that have not yet been defined are highlighted. Users can tap and select "Edit" to add a definition that fits their understanding of the word. To simplify the process of finding meanings, there is an option to "Copy" the word to the device’s clipboard for quick dictionary lookup. Users can also add text or an image as part of the word’s definition.

Once a word is defined, users can practice recalling its meaning using the "Trainer" screen, where Glossy randomly presents words from the glossary. After attempting to remember the meaning, users can click "Check" to see the word’s definition and rate how difficult it was to recall. Based on this rating, the app determines when the word will appear again for review.

The "Settings" screen provides customization options, such as switching between light and dark modes, restoring deleted words, or bringing back all removed words. Users can also select the language they are learning, and Glossy will generate a separate glossary for that language, allowing for vocabulary development in multiple languages simultaneously.

Additionally, the app includes a "Learning Mode" feature. Users can choose between seeing a word first and guessing its meaning or viewing the definition first and matching it to the correct word. The app is set by default to the first option, but this can be changed for a different training experience.
