The digital Tablet interacts with the legacy dome light or cruising light to provide additional functionality and enhance the user experience. The unit also interacts with the back-end management system to provide auditable data privacy standards, security, and breach notifications to the DFHV (Department of For-Hire Vehicles). The DTS must meet specific technical requirements, including compatibility with the previous two iOS or Android versions (Android 6 or later) and having no legacy Tablet connections. A mandatory drive test will be conducted to ensure accurate fare calculation, even in GPS degraded or no environments. Detailed specifications and photographs of all components, including information on data privacy and security, will be provided to the DFHV.
