The leaf is also used for birth control and to cause abortions.
tulsi has been used in curing wounds and infections owing to the combination of antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and antifungal properties in the plant. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help in reducing inflammation and healing wounds quickly.

Tulsi is effective in purifying blood which helps with preventing ulcers and infections in the mouth. Tulsi seeds, taken mixed in water or cow's milk, act as an antioxidant which also proves to be nourishing and soothing for the body.

Every Sunday, during Ekadashi and lunar eclipse, water should not be offered to Tulsi. Also, in these days and after hiding the sun, basil leaves should not be broken.
