Flowly

Chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia suck. Move from pain state to flow state.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

We know you’ve tried everything. Flowly is not a meditation app. Flowly teaches you how to control your actual heart rate, breathing, and nervous system. In this way, you get to reclaim your body. In this way, you get to reclaim your life from pain and anxiety.

Flowly brings virtual reality (VR) and biofeedback into your own hands, literally. 1) We send you a VR headset so you can create your safe space in VR. 2) In your safe space, you will be able to see your heart rate in real-time so that you can learn to control your nervous system and enter deep relaxation.

There is no silver bullet and we would never guarantee Flowly works for everyone. But, we have completed case studies and randomized controlled clinical trials backed by the NIH that showed significant decreases in pain and medication usage. Our community is filled with thousands of heroes, including pain patients, caregivers, providers, and more, who can vouch for Flowly.

FLOWLY IS DIFFERENT FROM MEDITATION
“Meditation offers a top-down approach where you first learn to control your mind to affect your body. Flowly, and biofeedback training, takes a bottom-up approach: you first learn to control your body and nervous system, to then positively affect your mind.” - Dr. Robert D Tien, former Chair of NeuroMR at Duke

FLOWLY’S MISSION IS TO DEMOCRATIZE BIOFEEDBACK AND VR THERAPY
Flowly marries two studied approaches to pain and anxiety management: biofeedback for relaxation training and virtual reality. Our mission is to take typically inaccessible therapies and put it (literally) in the hands of people who need it the most. That means you can use Flowly in bed, at work, even pulled over on the side of the road. You’ll also learn breathing and breathwork techniques that you can utilize in your day to day life!

Flowly has been studied in clinical trials backed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). We’re partnered with the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
