AAC picture communication for kids with parent and caregiver tools.
Talki Kids AAC+ helps children communicate through pictures, sentence starters, Social Scripts, Free Talk, My Thoughts, typing, spelling, custom messages, and speech output.
Created by parents, Talki Kids AAC+ is designed for children ages 3–14 who need extra support expressing wants, needs, feelings, choices, routines, school messages, social phrases, personal thoughts, and everyday ideas.
AAC picture communication that can grow with the child
A child may begin with only a few important categories and a small number of visible picture tiles. As the child grows more comfortable, the same app can support more detailed communication with Social Scripts, Free Talk, My Thoughts, typing, spelling, and speech output, depending on the child’s needs and adult support.
Start simple without deleting anything
Parents, caregivers, and support teams can hide or show full categories and individual tiles. This helps adults create a calmer communication board and add more choices when the child is ready. Hidden items are not deleted and can be shown again later.
Parent-controlled Starter Levels
Parents can choose how many sentence starters the child sees:
Simple Start for fewer starter choices.
Growing Sentences for more communication practice.
Full AAC+ for complete sentence starter support.
Starter Level is based on readiness, not age alone.
Personalize the board
Where supported, adults can add custom tiles using Camera or Gallery, or replace existing tile pictures. Familiar photos can help children connect communication to real people, places, foods, drinks, animals, routines, school items, activities, family roles, and comfort objects.
Protected parent tools
Parent Tools are protected behind a 4-second hold and Parent PIN. Adults can access Settings, Visibility Manager, Edit Tiles, and Starter Level while keeping the child-facing board cleaner and more focused.
Social Scripts and More to Say
Social Scripts give children ready-to-use phrases for everyday situations. Helpful More to Say prompts can support the next step after a Social Script phrase, such as responding, asking for clarification, sharing a need, or continuing a social exchange with less pressure.
Free Talk, typing, and My Thoughts
Free Talk helps children create custom messages beyond picture tiles. The Alphabet Board and Typing Keyboard can support spelling and longer messages. My Thoughts gives children another place to express feelings, needs, self-advocacy, and personal ideas.
