SVPlayer - watch in 60+ fps

A video player with real-time motion interpolation (SVP, MEMC, smooth motion)

Features & Capabilities

SVPlayer is a powerful video player that transforms your viewing experience by converting any video to 60+ frames per second in real time using SmoothVideo Project (SVP) motion interpolation technology. Enjoy ultra-smooth playback with features like flexible frame rate selection, black bar detection, and lighting enhancements.

Built on the robust mpv player, SVPlayer supports all video and audio formats, hardware video decoding, HDR tone mapping, and network streaming from WebDAV, FTP, SMB, DLNA, and Plex servers. Although frame rate conversion is a paid option after a trial, all other features are free. It is optimized for powerful devices (Snapdragon 865 or better) to ensure smooth 1080p playback. For lesser devices, streaming from a desktop PC running the SVP 4 application is available. Experience video like never before with SVPlayer, enhancing motion clarity and visual comfort.

User Reviews

Users praise SVPlayer for its smooth high frame rate playback, effective motion interpolation, and extensive video controls, making it superior to many players. However, common issues include licensing errors, audio quality degradation for certain formats, inadequate UI features like watch history and playlists, subtitle display problems, and significant battery drain causing device heating. The developer is responsive and regularly updates the app, but some core problems persist for users, especially regarding stability and usability.

  • Smooth video playback, especially with high frame rates (60+ fps), resulting in better viewing experience
  • Effective frame interpolation and motion smoothing features that enhance video quality
  • Support for a wide range of video formats including TS files
  • Regular updates and responsive developer team implementing user requests
  • Comprehensive video controls including gamma, sharpness, and playback speed adjustments
Cons
  • Issues with app stability such as license errors leading to unusable app after purchase
  • Audio quality problems with certain codecs like EAC3, resulting in reduced sound quality
  • Lack of some user interface features such as playlist support, watch history, and better file sorting in the player
  • Problems with subtitle rendering for some languages (e.g., Thai) and limited subtitle customization options
  • High power consumption causing phone heating after short use periods, especially on Android devices
