The more stuff you unlock, the more filler you get in your levelup perks. You need specific spells to target enemy weaknesses but have less and less control over your progress the further you go. Game's built to farm ads for rerolls and stamina refills. Could have been fun otherwise but I'm uninstalling.

The game pushes you to play the game a specific way despite the appearance of spell variety. You will come across slimes that are immune to physical attacks while also regenerating hp. If your other spells are not strong enough to kill them, then what else can you do? Bad game design to put immune enemies. Everything else seems okay. Lot of cool effects that dont matter against immune enemies. And what even is Burn status? I've never seen it tick higher than 3 no matter how high your damage is.
