Overview

Features & Capabilities

Open SQLite databases on Android

Open a .db, .sqlite, or .sqlite3 file with Android's file picker. Compatible file managers can also send a file when Android grants readable document access.

SQLite Workbench copies the database into app-private storage before database work begins. Browsing, queries, checks, and edits use that working copy. The file you picked is not opened for writing.

View and query for free

- Browse tables, views, indexes, and triggers.
- Read rows in bounded pages. Filter one column by contains, is null, or is not null.
- Run one supported read-only SQL statement at a time. Statements that could write are refused before execution.
- Run SQLite's integrity check on the working copy and read its findings.
- Export a table, filtered view, or query result as a new CSV or JSON Lines file to a destination you choose. Free exports include up to 1,000 rows.
- Try three bundled generated demonstrations, including write-ahead-log behavior and a million-row table generated on demand.

Recent transactions may be in another file

SQLite can keep recent transactions in a separate write-ahead log. If Android has not granted access to that log, SQLite Workbench pauses before showing rows and explains what may be missing. You can grant the folder so an accessible log can be copied, or continue from the database's last checkpoint with a warning that stays visible for the session.

Pro is one purchase

Pro adds:

- Back up the current working copy to a new file, preview a row change and its before-and-after result, then keep or discard it in the private copy.
- Save queries and use them with the next database.
- Export without the free 1,000-row app cap. Storage, the chosen provider, or cancellation can still stop an export.

There is no subscription and nothing renews. Restore purchases is on the same screen. When Google Play returns the exact Pro offer, the app shows Play's localized price. If that offer is unavailable, the app shows no price or purchase button.

Clear boundaries

- Edits stay in the private copy. This version does not write them back over the file you opened.
- The app requests no root or broad-storage access. It opens only documents Android grants.
- There are no ads, accounts, or product analytics. Database files, queries, and rows are not uploaded or sent to the developer.
- Exports and backups go only to the Android document-provider destination you choose. Buying or restoring Pro contacts Google Play.
