Features & Capabilities

Stringr Video is a dynamic crowd-sourced video marketplace designed specifically for news organizations seeking fresh footage from independent professionals known as "Stringers." News outlets or other interested parties can place footage requests for specific events or locations on the platform. These requests are then shared with a network of qualified independent videographers who can choose to capture and upload video content directly from their smartphones. When your video is accepted and used, you get paid, allowing you to monetize your videography skills. Whether you're a seasoned videographer or someone with a keen eye and a smartphone, Stringr Video empowers you to connect with news organizations worldwide and earn money easily by contributing timely, relevant footage.

User Reviews

Overall, Stringr Video is praised for its ease of use, legitimate earning potential, and event-driven opportunities, with several reviewers noting quick or steady payments. However, multiple reviews cite payment delays or missed payments, significant app bugs and performance problems for longer videos, and frustrating issues with event timing and request expirations that waste time. The experience with support is mixed but sometimes helpful.

Pros

Easy to use and very user-friendly interface
Regular payments and decent earning potential
Opportunities to earn money during weather events and other news events
Legitimate platform that can help videographers get noticed
Helpful customer support at times

Cons

Payment reliability concerns: delays or not paying for some leads
App stability issues: crashes and buggy UX, especially for large/long videos
Event requests often have timing inaccuracies or expiration rules that waste time
Occasional rejection of otherwise quality videos
Some redundancy in alerts/notifications

I love the idea. But it's useless if there are no jobs available. I live in Miami where there should be tons of opportunies and there's literally absolutely nothing. I have well over a peace of experience in the news industry. I feel like you have a better shot at just working directly with a news station as a independent stringer.
