Schools That Lead Collab Lab

Schools That Lead Collaboratory** is a collaborative improvement platform designed to help educators turn challenges into opportunities for meaningful, measurable improvement.

Brought to you by Schools That Lead, the Collaboratory gives teachers access to improvement ideas that have been tested by educators and shown to be effective. Teachers can explore ideas, learn from the experiences of other educators, and identify strategies that may help address challenges related to attendance, behavior, course performance, engagement, and other student outcomes.

The Collaboratory also gives teachers the opportunity to become creators of improvement ideas. Educators can author their own change ideas based on challenges they are experiencing in their classrooms or schools. Rather than simply implementing a strategy and hoping it works, teachers can use an improvement science approach to test their ideas, collect data, study results, and determine whether a change is actually leading to improvement.

Teachers can enter student outcome data without identifying individual students. The platform is designed to support the use of anonymized student data so educators can examine patterns and changes while minimizing the collection of personally identifiable student information.

Once data are entered, the Collaboratory helps educators visualize their results through run charts generated within the app. Run charts allow teachers to see how an outcome changes over time and determine whether their change idea may be contributing to improvement. This gives educators a practical way to move from assumptions and anecdotes to evidence gathered through their own testing.

The Collaboratory is built around the idea that teachers are problem-solvers and that the people closest to a challenge are often best positioned to develop and test solutions. Teachers can document their change ideas, test them in practice, review their data, and learn from what happens. When an idea works, educators can share what they learned. When it does not work as expected, the results provide valuable information for the next test.

Collaboration is at the heart of the platform. The Collaboratory is designed to encourage educators to learn from one another both within their school buildings and beyond them. Teachers can share ideas, experiences, and learning with colleagues and educators facing similar challenges in other schools and communities. This creates opportunities for professional learning that extend beyond traditional meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.

The platform supports a culture of continuous improvement in which educators do not have to wait for a perfect solution. Instead, they can start small, test changes, study the results, and refine their approach based on evidence. Over time, these small tests can build a stronger understanding of what works, for whom, and under what conditions.

Whether you are looking for an improvement idea to address a current challenge, developing your own strategy, or studying the results of a change you have tested, Schools That Lead Collaboratory provides a place to learn, test, measure, and share.
