Forget Me Not: Reminders

Most reminder apps are list apps that happen to buzz. Forget Me Not is the other way round. Everything in it exists to get a notification in front of you at the moment it is wanted — and to make that moment easy to set. The appointment, the tablet at eight, the MOT, the bins, the birthday you always remember two days late.

REMINDERS THAT ACTUALLY ARRIVE
Once, or every hour, day, week, month or year — and a weekly one can fall on several days at a time. Set an alert for a while beforehand. Mark a reminder Important and it takes over the screen instead of waiting quietly in the notification tray. Ignore one and it will chase you up, as many times and as far apart as you like. Snooze asks how long rather than assuming ten minutes.

QUICK ADD, FROM ONE LINE
Type or say "remind me to put the bins out at 7am every Tuesday". The app works out the name, the date, the time, the repeat and the category — and shows you exactly what it understood before it saves a thing.

THREE WAYS TO LOOK AT WHAT IS COMING
An itinerary of everything you keep, searchable by name and category. An Upcoming list grouped by day, with anything missed or snoozed pinned at the top. And a month at a time on the calendar, with a count against every day. Open a single date and see what will really happen on it — and skip one occurrence without disturbing the rest of the series.

YOUR CATEGORIES, YOUR FIELDS
Group reminders however you think about them, each with its own icon — built in, or a photo of your own — its own colour and its own notification sound. Then add the information the app never thought of: a policy number, a renewal date, a premium, a mileage.

YOURS TO KEEP, AND TO SEND
Send a single reminder to somebody else as a file. Import from and export to your phone's own calendar. Back the whole app up into one file and restore it on a new phone.

AT HOME ON A TABLET
A tablet is not a stretched phone. In landscape the calendar puts the month on one side and the day's plan on the other, and every wide screen is laid out for the room it has.

NO ADVERTS. NO TRACKING. NO ACCOUNT.
Your reminders stay on your device. There is nothing to sign in to, nothing is measured, and the app does not even hold Android's internet permission — it could not upload your reminders if it wanted to. Which is exactly why the backup is there.

FOURTEEN DAYS, EVERYTHING WORKING
Install it and use the whole app for fourteen days. After that, reminder notifications and calendar import and export need a one-off purchase to keep going. Everything you have created stays yours either way — nothing is deleted, nothing is locked away, and you can still read, edit and back up every reminder you own.
