The StartTV Network Chrome extension provides users with an effortless way to preview the network's schedule and detailed show information. This app serves as an essential companion for fans of the StartTV Television Network, which offers classic television programming across numerous U.S. markets.
Available over-the-air with an antenna, on select cable services, and via multiple streaming platforms, StartTV Network grants free access to cherished TV content. With this extension, users can quickly stay updated on upcoming shows and browse programming conveniently from their browser.
Users appreciate Start TV for its nostalgic and strong lineup of shows and value the program information provided. However, they are frequently disappointed that the app does not offer live streaming, serving only as an informational guide. Many find the need to authenticate with providers or use equipment frustrating, and some face difficulties with signal quality and technical integration. While the channel is popular and sometimes free via antenna or smart TV, the app's limited functionality and usability issues detract from the overall experience.

App can provide audio for users whose TV antennas provide video but no sound.
Cons
App lacks live streaming capabilities; it primarily serves as an informational guide rather than a streaming service.
Requires cable provider authentication, payment, or additional equipment for full access, which frustrates users expecting a standalone streaming app.
Interface and technical integration (like mirroring or connecting to TV) can be confusing and inconsistent, causing usability issues.
Reception and signal quality issues impact watching experience, especially for antenna users.
Some users experienced incomplete or non-functional programming guides for certain affiliates.
Recent reviews
I'm confused. Most reviews say this app is "info only, no actual streaming"....yet I see others that say their antenna setup has no sound, but now -- with the app -- they can hear it on the app while they watch it (soundless) on their TV. I also saw one suggesting pulling up the app and mirroring it TO the television. Am I missing something? I don't see how you can watch (or just listen) on this app. PLEASE clear this up for all of these commenters. Every other network app allows viewing.

This app only tells me what I'm supposed to be able to see on the TV. After 2nd day of "No Signal" I was hoping to be able to watch the programs with this app. This happens a lot on the TV. Just call yourselves "Stop TV" and be done with it.
