Lightyard: Pulse Switchyard

Lightyard is a real-time switchyard puzzle.

A stream of pulses arrives on a fixed schedule. You never build or draw track: the yard is laid, and you throw its levers while the stream is moving. Send every pulse to the outlet with its shape — cyan circles, amber squares, green diamonds.

MARKS, IN ORDER
Many pulses carry marks: the chips riding behind them. A marked pulse must be stamped at the matching gate before it may leave, and a pulse with two marks must take them in order. A gate refuses any pulse it is not next in line to stamp, and an outlet refuses a pulse that still owes a mark.

DON'T LET IT JAM
Gates take time to stamp. Feed one gate too hard and the line backs up into the emitter. Every emitter has a gauge; when it overfills, the line jams and the run ends. Share the work.

EVERY LEVEL HAS A PROVEN PAR
Clearing a level is the first test. Clearing it in the fewest switch flips is the puzzle. Each level's par is the minimum found by an exhaustive solver, so three stars is always possible and never free.

200 LEVELS, TEN CHAPTERS
Marks and jams arrive in the first five levels. Later chapters add second marks in order, three-way switches, racks that hold pulses back, loops that give a second pass, two emitters at once, and faster, denser lines. Every level is proven solvable.

EARN SPECIALS
New stars earn Sparks. Spend them on Peek (see every pulse still to come), Hold (pause the emitters for a moment) or Shield (send one wrong pulse back to its emitter). Specials are earned by playing and never sold. A run that uses one earns up to two stars.

CLIMB THE STARS BOARD
Race everyone on the Open board, where free and Pro players are ranked on the same free levels. Pro players also climb the Full ladder across every level. Every result is checked by replaying your moves with the game's own rules. No account needed.

MADE FOR EVERYONE
Every colour has its own shape, so no rule depends on telling colours apart. Sound and haptics can be switched off separately, and Relaxed speed slows every level down (a relaxed run earns up to two stars).
