Self-awareness and people discovery app
Soulmate App (Soulmate XL)
Soulmate XL is a dating PWA (with a native Android app via Capacitor) that distinguishes itself from traditional dating apps by its central focus: it's not just a tool for finding a partner, but a tool for self-knowledge and personal discovery that uses romantic compatibility as a springboard for users to better understand themselves before looking for someone else.
The core: self-knowledge before matching
• Personality Test System (accessible from the "Tests" button on the home screen): dozens of thematic tests grouped into rings/sections (emotions, characteristics, lifestyle, sexuality, etc.) — discipline and commitment, resilience and attachment, dating pace, partying and focus, fantasies, etc. Each test is not a generic dating questionnaire: it measures real personality traits (attachment, discipline, emotional availability, etc.) with its own scoring system for each test.
• Character Profile (“Character Design”): Test results are translated into a visual profile of traits with animated score bars, like a role-playing character sheet but based on the user's own psychology.
• Jungian Archetype: Based on the measured traits, the app assigns a personality archetype (inspired by Jungian psychology), giving the user a narrative summary of who they are.
• Independent IQ Test, and a Sexual Interests Filter that progressively unlocks more explicit tests only if the user indicates interest in those topics—consensual and gradual self-exploration, not exposed to anyone who doesn't request it.
This layer of self-knowledge is the true source of compatibility, not a cosmetic addition: The test-based compatibility engine summarizes each completed test into a score/label, saves it in a trait profile for each user, and compares these summaries between people—that is, you get to know yourself first, and the app uses that knowledge to find you a compatible match. Finding a Partner
• CompatibleView: a "2-in-1 duel" (two simultaneous profiles, not a classic card swipe) ordered by actual compatibility with the user's stated ideal, shared hobbies, lifestyle, and the results of their own tests.
• "My Ideal": the user explicitly defines what they are looking for, and this ideal determines the order in which other profiles appear.
• "Getting to Know Each Other": an intermediate step between matching and a relationship—mutual activation, a mutually agreed-upon message, announcements to other chats, with rules of reversibility (break up, reconcile) designed so that the process of getting to know another person is as deliberate as getting to know oneself.
• Social and gaming layer (retention, not the core of the product)
Chats, shared minigames (chess, Numbers and Letters, Scrabble, Abyssarion), level/XP system, virtual pet, IQ ranking, community feed, native push notifications—all built to sustain engagement around the central theme of self-knowledge, not to replace it.
Positioning summary: If you had to describe it in one sentence: a dating app that reverses the usual order—instead of starting with "look at profiles and decide," it starts with "understand who you are" (tests, character sheet, archetype) and only then shows you who you're truly compatible with, based on the idea that self-knowledge is the foundation of any genuine compatibility.
