spiceIQ

The jars at the back of your spice rack stay full. spiceIQ is how they get used.

I love to cook, but what I could eat was limited. So I leaned on spices, and
found things nobody writes down.
-> Rosemary with Sichuan peppercorn.
-> Parsley and
basil in hot chocolate.
-> Mediterranean sesame fried rice.

Working those out by hand took hours. This app does it in under a minute!

WHY PEOPLE USE IT

• You want to eat something you have never eaten before.
• You want to know what your spices actually do.
• You want it to work the first time, not after three tries.
• You want to put something on the table your friends ask about.
• You want to use the jar you brought home from your trip.

HOW IT WORKS

• Pick a dish, and how many spices you want.
• Tell it what is in your cupboard. It only suggests what you already own.
• Choose Balanced to play safe, Focus to go deeper, Discovery to be surprised.
• You get a blend in parts, with the reason each spice is in it.

Spices taste good together when they share flavor compounds. Anise, fennel and
star anise all carry anethole. spiceIQ maps that across 67 spices and finds the
overlaps you would never guess.

• Blending works offline
